Pistol is anything but a trader horse! He has been in good hands from the day he was born and has come into himself as one you will want to own for a lifetime.
We bought Pistol when he was a weanling, from the breeder in Dillon Montana, and started him as a two year old. We use him for all phases of ranch work horseback such as gathering cows, dragging calves to the fire, doctoring yearlings in the feedlot and outside, and shipping cows.
He has been brought along in the arena, slow and easy and has roped approximately 50 head out of the box. He pins his ears and runs to cattle with a great stop, but, the heel end is his forte. He is solid and quiet in the box and has all the athletic ability you would expect from a grandson of Peptoboonsmal.
Pistol is good in open country, rides out alone or in a group and is good on all kinds of ground. Good with tarps, flags, etc. Will walk up to and stand for a mounting block. He is really soft in the face and off your feet.
Good to shoe, haul and tack up. 15 hands, 1100 lbs. This is a really nice gelding with a solid ranching foundation and all the potential in the world. Come give him a try.
