Tom Hagwood, the Mustang Million Champion, has started over 2,500 head of colts, and has shown in major competitions such as the AQHA World Championship Show, the NRHA Futurity, and the NRCHA Futurity with earnings of $320,000 in Mustang Makeover events, and over $20,000 in Equi-Stat.
He and his horse, Merv, won the first and only Mustang Million in 2013, earning $211,000 and a new Dodge trophy truck. He followed that win in 2014 by claiming the title of Fort Worth Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion on Early Times, and winning $20,000. He also won the 2015 Fort Worth Extreme Mustang Makeover on Tiny, earning another $20,000, and making him the only person to win the Mustang Heritage Foundation's biggest show three years in a row.
Tom and his wife, Arianne, and daughter, Tommi Jean, own and operate a ranch in Wyoming's Big Horn Basin, where they run cows, start colts, train, show, and offer for sale top quality, well broke horses. They also offer lessons and clinics at the ranch or on the road. Their goal is to set each person up for success, whether it be in the arena or on the ranch.
